About Manish Gupta

Dr Manish Gupta is a Consultant Anaesthetist with a special interest in Pain Medicine. He graduated (MBBS) from the University of Delhi, and further qualified in Anaesthetics at the Lady Hardinge Medical College of the University of Delhi. He obtained the fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists of London (FRCA) in 2009, following which he joined the specialty registrar training programme at the Leeds Bradford School of Anaesthesia leading to specialist registration in 2014. He also completed a comprehensive advanced training programme in Pain Medicine at the Walton Centre Liverpool in 2012, and obtained a Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, London (FFPMRCA) through the exam route in 2013.  
 
He anaesthetizes for Orthopaedic Trauma at the Aintree University Hospital. He does joint clinics along with specialist physiotherapists for help with management of back and neck pain; acute sciatica clinics, pain management programme assessments, and joint clinics with palliative care for management of cancer related pain. He is also the Faculty of Pain Medicine Tutor for The Walton Centre.

Pain medicine

The Walton Centre is internationally famous for treating patients with chronic pain, pain which lasts longer than the normal healing process and is still present three months after an injury or illness.

Palliative care pain

The Walton Centre Pain Service works closely with the Department of Palliative Medicine at the Woodlands Hospice, which is on the same site as The Walton Centre, to treat patients with severe cancer related pain.
