General safety measures remain in place at The Walton Centre - and in our other clinic settings within the community – until further notice. These include temperature checks, the wearing of face coverings and social distancing.

COVID-19 information

Visiting is once again welcomed at The Walton Centre. We suspended visiting due to COVID-19 to protect our patients and colleagues. Although COVID-19 infection is still present in our communities, we understand how important visits are as a source of emotional support and wellbeing for our patients.

So that we can safely reintroduce visiting, visits should be pre-booked with an allocated appointment slot. Patients now can have two visitors each.

The slots are per day for up to an hour - unless there are exceptional circumstances where additional visiting is needed. This is to maintain social distancing, particularly in bay areas. Patients and their visitors are advised to contact the Ward Manager to arrange visits.

Beforehand, visitors are encouraged to take a Lateral Flow Test on the morning of their visit where possible, and only visit if the test is negative.

Unfortunately visitors are not permitted for patients who are admitted to the hospital electively, and who are asked to undertake a period of isolation prior to their admission. This is to ensure we can make sure we can continue with the planned patient treatments as much as possible.

Visitors are asked not to attend if:
• If you are feeling unwell
• Have respiratory symptoms
• Have received a positive COVID-19 test result within the last 10 days
• Have been a contact of someone with COVID-19 within the past 10 days
• Had diarrhoea or vomiting within the past 48 hours, you must not attend. Please cancel your visit and notify ward staff.

Whilst in our hospital, ensure you continue to follow infection control guidance, wear a face mask and any other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) advised by staff. Please also clean your hands using soap and water before entering and leaving the ward areas, and maintain social distancing of at least 2m between staff and patients.

Please note, visiting may be restricted or suspended with immediate effect if there are concerns about the spread of infection on our wards or in our communities.

General safety measures remain in place at The Walton Centre - and in our other clinic settings within the community – until further notice. These include temperature checks, the wearing of face coverings and social distancing.

The Walton Centre is working hard to ensure that we provide the best patient care possible, and we ask that you please respect our staff. However difficult things may seem for you, we are all here to help.

Please be kind and respect our staff who greet you and work hard to look after you - we are here to keep you safe and we kindly request your support to help us do this.

Thank you for your understanding.
